A cozy and traditionally built log cabin (like a wilderness cottage) situated on a beautiful, untouched lakeside plot by Lake Inari! The lake view stretches 35–40 kilometers and the fell view up to 100 kilometers. Own private shoreline about 50 meters. No visible neighbors and endless opportunities for hiking, cycling, and water activities all around. The cabin is easily accessible by car via a private road.

The cabin consists of two sections: a living area and a sauna, each with its own entrance from the terrace. The living area features a mini kitchen, a heat-retaining fireplace, a dining table (for four), and a double bed (120 cm). Part of the living area has high ceilings, and above is a 6 m² loft with two beds (80+80 cm). All windows have blinds.

The sauna section includes a changing room and a traditional wood-heated sauna with a built-in water tank for heating water. The sauna can fit four people using an additional bench. The changing room has space for clothes storage. On the covered terrace, there is a charcoal grill and seating area. There is also a summer kitchen with an open fireplace. Firewood storage and equipment storage available. Composting toilet in an outdoor outhouse. Open firepit by the shore.

The cabin has no electricity except for solar power, which can be used to charge USB-compatible devices like phones and lamps. For greater electricity needs, a 4-stroke generator is available. Lighting is powered by batteries, solar cells, or rechargeable units. Heating is provided by a fireplace and a gas heater.

Water for washing comes directly from the lake. After boiling, lake water can also be used for cooking. Drinking water can be collected, for example, from Kaamanen Kievari. We recommend to take some water with you when arriving. Water can be heated in the sauna and in the wood-heated outdoor kettle (80 liters). We kindly ask you to do the dishes on a counter next to the summer kitchen. 

The kitchen has a gas stove (two burners) and an 80-liter gas refrigerator. Basic cookware and dining ware for at least six people are provided. The rental includes duvets and pillows for four. Bed linen and towels are not included and it is not possible to order them in advance. Gas and firewood are also included in the rent.

Available for guest use: fishing gear for summer and winter, various recreational equipment, a fish smoker, board games, a canoe, a rowboat, life jackets and two mountain bikes (starting from the season 2026).  Pets are allowed for free, but must be agreed upon in advance. There is no cleaning service so the cottage should be cleaned by yourself. 

Distance to Lake Inari is approx. 30 meters. The beach is shallow and gently deepening. Excellent fishing spots just a few hundred meters from shore. A snowmobile trail passes about 500 meters away. The nearest boat dock is located in Käyräniemi (5 km). Via the lake it is about 1,5 km to Käyräniemi. 

Nearby towns in Finland include Inari (60 km), Ivalo (100 km), Utsjoki (130 km), and Nuorgam (180 km). Also nearby on the Norwegian side are Kirkenes (140 km) and Pykeija (Little Finland, 170 km).

About the area

Kakolanmäki, former prison area, is one of the most historic and now one of the most unique places in Turku. The apartment is close to former prison buildings that today serve as restaurants, spas, bakeries, microbreweries, coffee roommate and shops. The apartment overlooks the Aurajoki river beach, which can be reached by foot or Funikular elevator. Within walking distance are also downtown, the train station and the harbor. There are no apartments above and below the apartment. Pets are welcome!

The apartment

3 h + kitchen/dining area + sauna and bathroom + 2 toilet + 2 walk-in closets = 96.5 m² + glazed balcony + warm garage space.

The apartment is located on the top floor of an apartment building on the “bridge” between the houses, which means there are no apartments above and below. Views of the river and Kakolanmäki.

The master bedroom has a 160 cm electric bed (beds can be separated) and the other bedroom has a 120 cm electric double bed. A sofa bed for two in the living room. There is also a travel cot for a baby (incl. mattress and protective sheet, no bedding and linen). The master bedroom also has a TV.

The kitchen and living room are a cohesive space. The kitchen is fully equipped and has basic dishes (including for children) and glasses for different uses in addition to cooking utensils. Basic spices, coffee, tea, filter bags, detergents, garbage bags and paper towels are also available. A sofa bed and armchairs in the living room, as well as a TV and Bluetooth speaker. The living room opens double doors to the balcony. All windows of the apartment have blinds.

The balcony glasses have blinds. There are seating and a hammock chair on the balcony. Access to the balcony from the living room and master bedroom.

The sauna is electrically heated. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink. There is a separate laundry space. There is also a separate toilet (so totally two toilets).

The price also includes bed linen and bath towels. There are hand towels in the toilets and a kitchen towel in the kitchen. The number of people will be asked to be listed when booking. Toilet paper, shampoo and shower soap are also available. A hair dryer, iron and ironing board, a highchair, a potty and cleaning supplies as well as WiFi. Vehicle parking is also included in the price.

The apartment can also be accessed directly from the garage by elevator. The key can be found in the key box, the code and location of which, as well as access to the garage, is provided separately. The pet will be asked to let you know when booking. There are two dishes for the pet. Due to the permissibility of pets, occasional pet hair may be found after cleaning.
